Lot #13 - Bordeaux...Blended Your Way: The Growths, Château Lassègue & Vérité
Bordeaux Doesn't Get Any Better

Two couples.
Lassègue Vigneron/Winemaster Pierre Seillan hosts you in a private tour to some of the best châteaux, including tastings.
Four nights luxury accommodations in Saint Emilion during the 2009 Harvest.
Join Pierre Seillan for a spectacular tasting of France's first growths with Vérité and Château Lassègue wines, followed by a formal dinner at Château Lassègue.
One magnum of each: Vérité 2004 La Joie, Vérité 2004 La Muse, Vérité 2004 Le Désir, and 2004 Château Lassègue.

If the very heart of winemaking is France, then its soul is arguably right here in Saint Emilion where two couples will relax in luxury accommodations at Saint Emilion's historic Hotel Châeau Grand Barrail for four nights during the 2009 Harvest.

As schedules permit, your host Pierre Seillan offers a spectacular tasting and lavish formal dinner at Châeau Lassèue. Tonight you share some of the best of Bordeaux, including first growths and Lassèue, plus an insightful benchmark tasting of the awesome and highly praised Véité with its French winemaking heritage conceptually transplanted into a California setting.

Then, as honored guests, along with your host, you'll tour some of the most prestigious châeaux in the region — making a stop or two along the way to experience the artistry and craftsmanship of the region. One such example is a visit with Michel Gracia, Châeau Gracia winemaker, a renowned architect who is instrumental in the massive renovation of the monolithic church in Saint Emilion. Besides sharing wine experiences, Michel will conduct a private architectural tour of his historically significant renovation project, best viewed from caves below the church. The afternoon will culminate with a tasting hosted by Michel at his nearby small-production "garagiste" winery.

Finally, rest assured, before you can say au revoir, you part with future enjoyment on the horizon as you and your guests share: one 1.5 L Véité 2004 La Joie, one 1.5 L Véité 2004 La Muse, one 1.5 L Véité 2004 Le Déir, and one 1.5 L 2004 Châeau Lassèue.

Please note: Mutually agreed-upon dates during 2009. Airfare not included.

Grape harvest anywhere can be amazing to see. But the Bordeaux harvest is an exhilarating, almost spiritual experience, as history meets tradition, and Mother Nature offers up her glorious bounty. Early on it's busy, active, got-to-get-it done. But careful too: like a church ritual performed with reverence. And then, it's over. The harvest is a memory and vines find peace again, still painted their autumn colors, accompanied by the song of a passing bird still sampling remnant grapes. From the cellars waft the soft hiss and snap of a press, or the low hum of a pump-over in progress. And in the air, that familiar and glorious once-a-year fragrance of new juice under cap, fermenting its way to wine lusciousness.

The village of Saint Emilion is located on the right bank of the river Dordogne, next to the town of Libourne, in the Bordeaux viticulture area. Here at Lassègue, they believe in "micro-crus" as a means to achieving highly complex and delicate wines. With three varietals, nine types of soils, and a cellar that respects this diversity; there are many, many blending possibilities - the secret behind consistent quality and complexity at Lassèue, both today and in the even brighter future of this very special place.
