Lot #18 - Where Young Cabs Get Softer & Soft Labs Get Bigger
The Lab & The Cab
Small format: one chocolate color Labrador puppy for a good home
Large format: one 6-Liter Silver Oak 2004 Alexander Cabernet to a good cellar
Framed format: New Yorker dog cartoon signed by cartoonist David Sipress

Oh, sure...we could have dropped in a photo right here of a Labrador puppy and played on the "cute" angle, especially if its tongue were hanging out. Or instead, we could have included a photo of a 6-Liter Silver Oak Alexander Cab here, and maybe your tongue would hang out.

Both the Lab and the Cab have a pedigree and both will bring endless pleasure. As for the Silver Oak, it's a 2004 Alexander Valley Cabernet, known for its consistently solid performance before the most discerning wine critics. In this one bottle you've got eight bottles of partying waiting to happen! Nothing cute about this one: just big, bold and wonderfully elegant.

As for the cute one, the Labrador was born July 12th at the home of a breeder living in the farmlands outside Chicago. Interviewed by a dog savvy volunteer auction consultant, subsequently, the breeder was visited and the puppy selected to be hand-carried to the West Coast.

This breeder wants you to know that she takes pride in raising American Kennel Club registered Labrador Retrievers (full papers) in a natural setting, on the family farm where the puppies have been handled and loved by children since the day they were born, to ensure a temperament worthy of joining your family.

The little guy you are bidding on (yes, it's a male) weighed 1lb. at birth. At full weight, it will tip the scale at about 65lbs. But right now, at about 12lbs, this high energy little guy is curious as can be, with a puppy intellect way beyond its doggy years! If you believe you offer a good home and a family willing to show some puppy love, then raise that paddle.

And just for fun, as long as we're on the dog theme, this lot includes a framed original print of a New Yorker dog cartoon, signed by cartoonist David Sipress — just another smile to add to the ones already caused by thinking about your new Lab and Cab.
