Witness Ramey Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, vintage 2005. That's the year that Robert Parker awarded scores of 94 and over for every single bottle you'll be putting away (or sharing with friends, if you can't wait). Yes, David Ramey provides you with some extremely elusive 2005 wines — direct from his cellar to yours.
To wit: A stunning "piano" of Ramey 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Pedregal Vineyard, Oakville (750ml, 1.5 Liter, 3 Liter, 6 Liter) The two largest of these are hand-etched, turning the rare jewel of a find into something impossible to replicate.
Now, imagine adding three signed magnums each of the following:
Ramey 2005 Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay (Russian River Valley)
Ramey 2005 Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay (Napa-Carneros)
Ramey 2005 Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay (Napa-Carneros)
That's nine more rare additions as your cellar grows, even as your appreciation for all things Ramey grows ten-fold. How? David Ramey will be hosting the lucky bidder and nine guests at Ramey Wine Cellars where you will partake of a fabulous lunch with more Ramey-instigated wine surprises.
Choose your friends wisely. They'll owe you big time!

Donor: David & Carla Ramey, Ramey Wine Cellars
David Ramey is one of those rare members of a select group of winemakers who can be credited with revolutionizing modern day winemaking in California. These innovators, some 20 years ago, returned to the Old World art of winemaking, set against a landscape of New World "university science" that was manufacturing squeaky clean wines largely devoid of character. The goal of these new wave winemakers was to put terroir back into the bottle and create wines of natural and unique distinction.
Widely acknowledged to be among the wine pioneers whose efforts helped raise the bar for all American winemakers and brought California to the forefront of the international wine world, David's groundbreaking new California wines brought about a revolution of style: richer, more lush and silky smooth than previously known — now a benchmark to many.
Ramey Wine Cellars, which David owns with his wife, Carla, was founded in 1996. Currently, David continues to "swing for the fences," as he likes to say. To make great wines, he takes chances, harvesting his grapes at the last possible moment, using methods in the cellar that his former college professors consider risky at best.
But in vino veritas...the resulting wines earn praise among colleagues, consumers and the media alike.
