Tour d' Sonoma Bicycle Adventure
Three couples join three biking enthusiasts from Sonoma's food & wine scene for a two day sojourn
through Sonoma County's back roads (averaging 20 miles per day).
Two nights accommodations for three couples at Vintners Inn.
Rolling meals and winery stops included.
"Forty mile" Dinner Celebration at John Ash & Co. including gift awards of wines
provided by host wineries and other wine producers.
Tour d' Sonoma Paradiso Bicycling Patches for all riders.
The ribbon that connects this Sonoma wine country is long and winding as it nudges up against the most amazing vineyard scenery this side of paradise. Roll by the rolling hills and drift along as the sun drifts low in the sky. Then settle back after a rewarding day of bike trekking to enjoy the remaining light as you dine with your fellow riders.
It all begins in the Healdsburg area as you and your compatriots set out for two days led by a trio of serious bicycling enthusiasts who ride these back roads every week: Dan Goldfield, winemaker proprietor of Dutton-Goldfield; Didier Ageorges, Executive Chef of Chalk Hill Estate & Winery; and Michael Osbeck of John Ash & Co. Don't worry, we won't require you to train for your ride, but we will try to cover 40 miles over your two days, beginning and ending each day right where you started.
In between and along the ride you'll see the most amazing countryside, sparsely populated but richly endowed with expansive vineyards and graced with some of the most talented wine makers on God's good earth. Your group will ride the back roads of some of the lesser travelled Russian River area routes, stopping along the way for rest, refreshment (water) and a bit of wine tasting. (If you want to purchase wines you sample, we will arrange for them to be brought to your hotel before the end of your trip.) Each day, a light lunch will be served by one of our two generous host wineries.
At the end of the day, three cozy rooms await your group for two nights at Vintners Inn, nestled on a vineyard in the heart the Russian River Valley. Two dinners are included, the first at Barndiva, the trendy-but-relaxed, family-owned restaurant in Healdsburg; and the closing dinner right here at Vintners Inn's own John Ash & Co. where the both the stories and the wine will be flowing while your group enjoys a celebratory dinner prepared by Executive Chef Thomas Schmidt.
